It’s the start of March and the days are beginning to lengthen a little, storm Jorge has been and gone, and in between the storms the sun is making an occasional appearance, so, it’s time for the Ancrum March weekend meet. The March weekend meet date will be this coming weekend, 6th -8th March in the Grey Corrie Lodge Bunkhouse, Roybridge (website: https://greycorrielodgebunkhouse.co.uk/ ). The Club have been there before and it is a decent venue and location. From Roybridge we can access The Grey Corries, the Laggan hills, the Loch Lochy Munros, the Ben, Nevis Range/ Aonach Mor for skiers and also, slightly further afield, the Loch Quoich and Glen Shiel areas and the Glenfinnan hills.
I already have 6 people coming on the meet- Liz, DaveT, Jim, Tim, Gareth and Karen (me), and so I have booked the 8 bed bunk room. Bedding is supplied so we can leave our sleeping bags at home, just remember your towels (and a hot water bottle if you want one). The bunkhouse has a kitchen/ sitting room with all the usual refinements of cookers, microwave and fridge, plus a wood burning stove, there is also a drying room and showers. The cost will be £20pp/pn for accommodation and petrol will be in the region £20 for passengers. There are 2 more spaces available if anyone else would like to come along.
Also- heads up for the April Meet- April 10th-12th, to the The Cabin, Laggan. Pop it in your diary. I’ll be sending out the 2020 meets list soon, we have some nice trips coming up.
I’m looking forward to a wee trip out to blow the cobwebs away.
See you there 😊
