Santa Claus is coming to town! If we’re good, he’ll be visiting the assorted members of the Ancrum, at Milehouse. As you all know, Santa is always warmly received by the Club, and does his best to give appropriate high quality gifts to those good Boys and Girls who are present that night. The bad Boys and Girls may get a spanking, which might be more fun. Along with Santa’s visit, there will be a communal meal (including sherry trifle) and a party atmosphere, along with mulled wine, mince pies, crackers, dancing and singing and maybe the odd party game here and there (spin the banana is always an option).
Here’s the info: Milehouse is 1 mile from village of Kincraig on the road to Insh. OS map 35, Kingussie. GR NH839043. Milehouse has two bedrooms, one with alpine-style sleeping platforms with mattresses for 12 people and one that sleeps 5 (reserved for LSCC members in winter). Pillows and blankets are provided but please bring your own sleeping bag and pillowslip, tea towel and towels. If the hut is full there is overspill camping, for up to 4 tents
We have all the usual refinements. There is a fully equipped kitchen and an open plan dining/sitting room. Electric lighting and heating showers (£1 coin meter); solid fuel stove; gas hob; electric cooker including oven; microwave; fridge; hot and cold running water at sinks and washbasins; two shower rooms with electric showers; drying room; two WCs; storage shed for skis or about 4 bikes. The cost of accommodation is £14 pp/pn, camping is £10pp/pn, petrol is in the region of £15- £20 for passengers, and £5 for the communal meal. There are 12 spaces available in the hut.
All you have to do, for a chance to join the fun and see Santa before his high speed flight around the world on Christmas Eve, is remember to phone in for the Ancrum Christmas Weekend Meet of 6th- 8th December. Phone in will be on Tuesday 3rd December, to Ian, 8pm-9pm only. Please note your place on the meet cannot be confirmed if you don’t phone/ text Ian to sign up.
I have been in touch with Santa, and his Helper, and they have said they are looking forward to this exciting event, and are hoping to see lots of members- the more the merrier in fact!
Hope to see you there (don’t forget your £1 coins for the meter).
