It’s February, and an Ancrum Member’s fancy turns to thoughts of the lovely sunny days of spring, and the May long weekend meet. This year the Ancrum long weekend trip is back to Skye, going to a different venue, The Sligachan Bunkhouse, http://www.sligachanselfcatering.com/the-woodhouse for the weekend 3rd- 6th May. The bunkhouse is near the Sligachan Hotel (handy for a pint) and is a great base for the East end of Cuillin Ridge, the opposite end from the Glen Brittle Memorial Hut, which is abut 25 minutes drive away .
Being a commercial bunkhouse, the charges for the hut, are at a higher rate than GBMH. Cost of accommodation for this weekend is £18 pp/pn ie £54 for 3 nights, Petrol will likely be in the region of £30, this will be confirmed nearer the time. Due to the significant advance outlay required to pay for the hut we are holding an early phone in, and we are asking for early payment for the accommodation fees to cover this. We have 10 spaces booked, but some extra spaces may be available. Please note you will need your sleeping bag!
To secure your place on the meet please phone me, Karen, on Tuesday 5th March between 8pm and 9pm only. In order to confirm your place on the meet, we’re asking you to send your accommodation payment of £54 to Tim, our Treasurer and Financial Wizz by Monday 25th March 2019. This will allow the payments to be banked in time for payment of the final balance at the start of April. We will, of course, happily accept payments at the upcoming March meet, 15th-17th March at the Alex MacIntyre Memorial Hut, (more details to follow).
