February Meet – Great Glen

Hi Folks,

Happy New Year to you (belatedly), I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year and that Santa was good to you (or kinder than he was on the Christmas Meet J ). With February approaching , with our hopes of snow on high being fulfilled, I’m sure your thoughts are turning to the hills. With this in mind, how better to get out there than the Ancrum February Weekend Meet. The date for this sociable hill event is the 1st-3rd February 2019, when we will be heading back to the Great Glen Water Park. This is a handy location for the Ben, Glen Spean, Nevis Range, Glen Shiel/ Kintail, The Grey Corries and Creag Meagaidh to name but a few.

Currently, we have one chalet booked sleeping up to 7 people (1 would be on a folding bed in the lounge), but another can be booked if there are enough people wanting to go. The chalets are booked on a 3 nights for the price of 2 offer, so you can stay on the Sunday night if you so wish (be ready to leave at 10am on the Monday), which makes an already good value weekend a bit of a bargain. The cost of the weekend will be about £25-30 for the accommodation for the weekend, depending on numbers, plus a small amount for electricity (usually about £3-£4), with petrol in the region of £20- £25 for passengers. 2 chalets will give us up to 14 spaces. Bedding is provided but not towels. If you’re prone to cold feet, you might want to bring a hot water bottle, or an extra blanket. A tea towel is also a good idea. Unfortunately the swimming pool is closed, so the only options for a swim are in the Loch, or down in Fort William.

In order to get final numbers and get a second chalet organised, could you please contact me- Karen,  by Tuesday 29th January so we can arrange another chalet if needed 😊

I hope you’ll be able to come along and join the fun. I’m looking forward to going, see you there.

All the best,

Karen
