Ling Hut (Torridon) meet

Hello Folks,

My apologies for the delay in getting this email out to you. Phone in is tonight, the 4th September.

I hope you had a good summer and are feeling relaxed. Now September is upon us, perhaps you’re needing a wee hill fix? If you do, why not come on the Ancrum September Weekend Meet to the Ling Hut in Torridon?

We have six spaces booked (more spaces may be available), and the cost is £14 pp/ pn, Petrol for passengers approx £25. Cooking and heating are by propane gas, lighting is electric (propane generator and solar panel)- there is no fridge or microwave. The hut has a drying room and a toilet, but no shower. A dunk in the river for a wash is do-able if the weather is decent. Sleeping is on an alpine platform in one room, you will need a sleeping bag.

The hut is situated on the south side of Glen Torridon at G.R. NG 958 562. Parking is in the Coire Dubh Mhor public carpark (the car park for the walk into Coire Mhic Fhearchair/ Ben Eighe), and access to the hut is by a narrow foot track, the walk in is about 15 minutes. Rolly cases are not a good idea for this one, a big rucksack and a tea towel are good ideas.

As a heads up, the water pump  is needing repaired, and may not be ready by this weekend, so some Tesco el cheapo bottled water for drinking and cooking might be handy. Fingers crossed, it will be fixed. There may be another group in, but the custodian’s email is a bit unclear on this. I am trying to get more information.

In the meantime, phone in is tonight, Tuesday 4th September, to Ian , 8-9pm. I hope you can make this meet.

My apologies once again for the delay in getting the email out to you.

Hope you can make it,

Yours, flustered,

Karen

Your slightly delayed meets Secretary.
