A wee note from Karen, our hardworking meets secretary, re the forthcoming Skye long weekend.

It’s February, and an Ancrum Member’s fancy turns to thoughts of the lovely sunny days of spring, and the May long weekend meet. This year the Ancrum long weekend trip is to Skye, to the Glen Brittle Memorial Hut for the weekend of 4th-7th May . The GBMH is an iconic hut, at the foot of the Cuillin, which is a great base for the Cuillin ridge and Skye. GBMH has had some refurbishment work done, which has improved the comfort of this well loved venue even more than we thought possible (new loos and showers, an upgraded kitchen……).
The improvements in the facilities are now reflected in the charges for the hut, which has been increased. Cost of accommodation for this weekend is £15 pp/pn ie £45 for 3 nights, Petrol will likely be in the region of £30, this will be confirmed nearer the time. Due to the significant advance outlay required to pay for the hut we are holding an early phone in, and we are asking for early payment for the accommodation fees to cover this. We have 8 spaces and I will of course try to get more spaces should they become available.
To secure your place on the meet please phone Ian on Tuesday 6th February between 8pm and 9pm only, in order to confirm your place on the meet, we would ask you to send your accommodation payment of £45 to Tim, our Treasurer and Financial Wizz by Wednesday 28th February 2018.
